Recipes

Spinach Dip

1 box (10oz) frozen chopped spinach,

(thawed and squeezed dry)

1 container (16oz) sour cream or Greek yogurt

1 cup mayonnaise

1 package Red Barn Vegetable Dip

1 can (8oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped (optional)

3 green onions, chopped (optional)

 

Directions: Combine all ingredients and chill for 2 hours.

Serve with your favorite dippers.

 

 

Baked Artichoke Dip

1 package Red Barn Chive and Garlic Dip

1 can (14oz) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 container (16oz) sour cream

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 4oz)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 4oz)

 

Directions: Preheat oven to 375°. Combine all ingredients in 1-quart casserole. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite dippers.

 

VARIATIONS

Spinach & Artichoke Dip

Stir in 1 package (10oz) frozen chopped spinach

(thawed and squeezed dry)

 

Italian Artichoke Dip

Substitute cheddar cheese for 1 cup (8oz) mozzarella cheese and stir in 1/4 cup drained and chopped sun-dried tomatoes.

 

Mexican Artichoke Dip

Substitute cheddar and mozzarella cheese for 1 cup (8oz) Monterey Jack cheese and stir in 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, 1 (4oz) can chopped green chili, 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin and hot pepper sauce to taste.

 

 

Hot Crab Dip

1 container (16oz) sour cream

1 can (6.5oz) crabmeat (or 1 cup fresh or frozen crabmeat)

1/2 package (4oz) cream cheese, softened

1 package Red Barn Vegetable Dip

1 tsp lemon juice

 

Directions: Preheat oven to 350°. Combine all ingredients and spread into 1-quart baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes or until hot. Serve with a sliced baguette or your favorite dippers.

 

 

French Onion Dip Burger

1 package Red Barn Onion Dip

1 lb. ground beef

1 tbls. water

4 hamburger buns

4 slices Swiss cheese

1 can of beef broth or stock (for dipping)

 

Directions: Combine the onion dip with ground beef; shape into 4 patties. Grill or broil burgers, turning once, until done, about 12 minutes. Top with Swiss cheese and arrange burgers on buns. Meanwhile, bring beef broth or stock to a boil over high heat in 1-quart saucepan. Reduce heat to low and simmer 2 minutes. Evenly pour into 4 small bowls. Serve burgers with dipping sauce and your favorite sides.

 

 

Hot Cheesy Broccoli Dip

1 box (10oz) chopped frozen broccoli, thawed

1 package (8oz) cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup mayonnaise

1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese

1 package Red Barn Vegetable Dip

1 can (8oz) water chestnuts

2 cloves garlic

 

Directions: Preheat oven to 350°. Combine all ingredients except 1/2 cup cheese in medium bowl. Spoon into a 2-quart casserole and top with remaining the 1/2 cup cheese. Bake for 35 minutes or until heated through. Serve with toasted French baguette rounds, sliced garlic bread or tortilla chips.

Apple Sauce

(omit the oil)

1/2 cup apple sauce

Banana

Mash 1 banana

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Carrot

1 cup grated carrots

1/2 cup raisins

1 tsp allspice

Fruit or Berries

(fresh or frozen)

1 cup berries or fruit

Lemon Poppy Seed

1 pkg instant lemon pudding

1 tbls poppy seeds

Reduce water to 1/2 cup

1/2 cup lemon juice

Pineapple, Carrot, Raisin

1/2 cup each, grated carrots
raisins, crushed, drained
pineapple & chopped nuts

Zucchini

1 cup grated zucchini

1 tbls cinnamon

1/2 cup nuts

Pumpkin

1 cup pumpkin pie filling

1/2 tbls pumpkin pie spice

1/2 cup chopped nuts & raisins

Apple Cinnamon & Sugar

1 1/2 cup raw chopped apples

1/2 tsp cloves

1/2 cup nuts or raisins

Sprinkle tops with
cinnamon/sugar before baking

Peanut Butter & Jelly

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup chopped peanuts

Drop 1 tbls jelly on top of each
muffin before baking

Cranberry Orange

1 cup chopped fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/2 cup orange juice

1 tbls fresh grated orange peel

ADD-INS for BEER BREAD

Dilly Bread

Add 2 tbls dried dill

or 1/4 cup fresh dill

Cheesy Bread

Add 1 cup grated cheddar or Swiss
cheese and 4 shakes of hot sauce.
Instead of beer, you can add a can
of your favorite soda - any flavor!
